This Privacy Policy explains how Ulama Circle ("we", "us", the "app") collects, uses, and protects your information. Ulama Circle is a free Islamic audio app offering lectures and Qur'an recitation. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — if you sign in with Google or email/password, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) your profile basics. You may instead use the app as a guest, which creates an anonymous ID with no personal details.
- Your content & preferences — your favorites, playlists, listening history, chosen avatar, and language preferences, so your library follows you.
- Notifications — if you allow notifications, a push token is stored so we can alert you about new lectures. You can turn this off any time.
- Usage & diagnostics — anonymous usage statistics and crash/performance data that help us keep the app stable and improve it. This is not used to identify you.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, photos, or messages. We do not sell your personal data.
How we use your information
- To provide the app and sync your library across your devices.
- To send notifications you have opted into (e.g. new lectures, Ramadan reminders).
- To understand which content is popular and to fix crashes and improve performance.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase to run the app — specifically Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging (notifications), Analytics, and Crashlytics. Your data is processed on Google's infrastructure under Google's terms. See the Firebase Privacy and Google Privacy Policy.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — in the app via Profile → Delete account, or by following the steps here: iscollection.web.app/delete-account.html. Deletion is permanent.
Children
Ulama Circle is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We rely on Google Firebase's industry‑standard security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
